Ah, self-care. As it’s practically impossible to scroll Instagram these days and not see at least one face mask-wearing friend hash tagging #selfcare. While yes, self-care is a total buzzword these days, it’s also for a good reason. In a day and age of digital overload and constant stimulation, it’s not surprising that we feel a bit overwhelmed from time to time. Simply put, self-care is anything you do to be good to yourself and combat that feeling of overwhelm. It’s all about giving yourself a little TLC.
Self-care can look like a lot of different things, from Instagram able face masks to elaborate spa treatments, but self-care can also be this totally free thing that’s easy to do every single day.
Ready to start your new self-care routine? Here are some things you can do for free tonight.
a. Write down 10 things you are grateful for today.
b. Journal for 10 minutes about your day.
c. Meditate. (Try these three anxiety-relieving meditations.)
d. Take a bath.
e. Light scented candles. (Make sure to use a safe, non-toxic, naturally-scented one!)
f. Go for a walk after work.
g. Put your phone on airplane mode for the rest of your evening.
